Over 200 guests gathered at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum on Friday, July 16th for an evening of cocktails, dinner and music in support of Point Foundation. The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum fosters a positive relationship between people and nature though education, research, collections and collaboration. Attendees of Point’s event had the opportunity to tour both the Museum and the Butterfly House during the event. Guests also enjoyed a short program that included comments by Executive Director & CEO Jorge Valencia and Point Scholars Natalie Brilmyer and Matthew Smith. Other Point Scholars and Alumni in attendance included: Rohan Barrett, Molly Price, Kevin Ferenchak, and Derek Clifton. Among the attendees was Alderman Tom Tunney, who spoke on behalf of Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. Nearly $100,000 was raised through this event to help support Point’s mission of providing financial support, mentoring, leadership training and hope to meritorious students who are marginalized due to sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
