Jerry J. Sharell
Communications & Marketing Director
With over 15 years experience in the entertainment and lifestyles industries, Jerry Joseph Sharell has an unmatched passion and drive for what he does, bringing success to each endeavor.
Most recently, Sharell ran his own consulting company where for 5 years he has guided the career of “American Idol” star Kimberley Locke. In addition to overseeing her recording career, which includes 3 album releases on Curb Records, Sharell diversified the young singer by having Locke become a spokes model garnering lucrative deals with Jenny Craig and Lane Bryant.
Previously, Sharell was the Senior Director of Publicity at Stiletto Entertainment. There, he oversaw the public relations for the management firm’s recording artists, including Barry Manilow, Diane Schuur, Curtis Stigers, Nemesis Rising, Jason & deMarco and Karrin Allyson.
In 1999 Sharell spent a few years in-house at Leeza Gibbons Enterprises overseeing Gibbons personal publicity as well as her television productions, merchandise and philanthropy. This included the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation and Leeza’s Place, her non-profit organizations, which benefited Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers. Sharell conceived and produced the compilation album “Reflections,” with a portion of the proceeds going to the charity. The CD included inspirational songs by LeAnn Rimes, Reba McEntire and Gloria Estefan, among others.
Sharell has held other in-house P.R. Director positions with fashion designer BCBG Max Azria and cosmetics company, Hard Candy. With BCBG, Sharell was instrumental in introducing the designer to Hollywood by developing a “big-name” celebrity fan base, including Sharon Stone and Renee Zellwegger. With Hard Candy, Sharell’s P.R. efforts helped them reach the goal of selling the $10 million company to Louis Vuitton Moet Hennesy.
In representing both celebrities and corporations, Sharell has worked closely with many charities including HRC, City of Hope, GLAAD, and Camp Heartland/One Heartland.
Sharell grew up in Woodland Hills (proudly calling himself a Valley Boy) and now resides in West Hollywood. Never suffering the middle-child-syndrome, he has an older sister, Janine and younger brother Jeffrey. Parents Jerry and Joanne are still married 44 years and counting. His father is well-known music industry executive, Jerry F. Sharell.
