Vietbao7/18/07Scholarship for One Gay student of Vietnamese HeritageThe charitable organization, Point Foundation, is awarding scholarship money to gay and lesbian students. This year, 2007, there are 38 winners, and out of those winners, one scholar trace his heritage back to Vietnam. Kha Trinh was awarded $13,600. Beyond financial support, the scholarship provides leadership training and mentorship so that these gay and lesbian students may enter society with confidence for self advancement. The scholarship will renew itself annually as long as the student meets the academic requirements until completion of the program. Kha Trinh was born in Saigon, Vietnam, currently living in Norcross, GA, a suburb of Atlanta since 1997. When he was 14 years old, he revealed himself to his family. Kha is currently studying at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana; he plans to enter the field of education once he graduates.
