Geoff Mino
Wells Fargo Point ScholarBrown University
After coming out in high school, Geoff became involved in, and eventually president of, his school’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) group, Spectrum. He has also spoken at the Equality Forum conference in Philadelphia and encouraged his classmates to join him in attendance. Outside of his work in the LGBTQ community, Geoff has also been the editor of his high school’s newspaper The Scribe, the school’s literary magazine the Solebury Literary Arts Magazine (SLAM), a National Merit Scholar and an Eagle Scout. Geoff is a currently an undergraduate at Brown University, where he expects to combine English and French Literature, Visual and Literary Arts, and Queer Theory into an interdisciplinary study focusing on interpersonal communication and identity-making. Following his education, Geoff hopes to contribute to the construction of a more individual-affirming world culture through LGBTQ public relations and media outreach. |
